Insulin and Cancer

A search of the PubMed data base came up with an article, Insulin and Cancer that I found especially interesting. The article notes “Recent evidence supports the role of insulin and IGF-1 as important growth factors, acting through the tyrosine kinase growth factor cascade in enhancing tumor cell proliferation.”

Most interesting is the concluding sentence in this abstract: “The opportunity for a multidisciplinary approach involving nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction in an integrative setting may be crucial to limiting the insulin-resistant state and improving cancer outcomes.”

I like the conclusion in that it empowers each of us to consciously choose our lifestyle and take charge of the fight against cancer. Join us as we each craft our personalized anti-cancer health plan.
