Integrating clinical hypnotherapy into your treatment program helps engage and harness the creativity and intelligence of your Mind to revive the innate immune response and strengthen your body’s capacity to heal and recover.
Clinical Hypnotherapy aim to uncover and resolve underlying motivations for illness. Doing so often translate into greater physical and psychological resiliency, strengthened will-to-live and improved outlook for favorable outcome. Included in the definition of Integrative Medicine (IM), clinical hypnotherapy is a safe, holistic and non-invasive healing practice that allow patients to tap into; and harness the power of their Subconscious Mind to enhance and support the body’s effort to heal and recover.
A Clinical Hypnotherapist
A Clinical Hypnotherapist is really a specialist in hypnosis, utilizing the healing capacity of hypnosis to work with Mind aspects such as erroneous perceptions and harmful thought patterns suppressing the functioning of the immune system and inhibit the efficacy of medicine.
Hypnosis as an Integrative Practice for Recovery.
The term Integrative medicine (IM) describe a new approach to medical care. It starts with the conventional western model of disease, and encompasses other non-medical healing methods such as hypnotherapy. Combining complementary medicine practices with evidence-based medicine facilitate the treatment of the “whole person,” i.e. focusing on healing and wellness rather than on just treating disease.
Hypnosis has long been an ally in the fight against cancer, though mostly used for symptoms management such as nausea, fatigue or pain. With advancements in the field of clinical hypnotherapy we are now able to intervene and support the body as it fights the cancer and to do so in a safe, methodical and meaningful way.
In addition to the mentioned above, integrating hypnosis into your cancer care program can help eliminate Mind patterns that inhibit the effectiveness of medicine, enhance your quality of life, and ultimately improve your treatment outcome.
Because hypnosis help address the root of the deep-seated subconscious patterns believed to have influenced or promoted the development of illness, it also help prevent the illnesses from resurfacing in secondary medical condition after the primary problem was successfully addressed by surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or medication.
A Typical Hypnosis Session
I should point out that a free half hour consultation take place before we ever get to the first session. This consultation is an opportunity for us both to meet, discuss your current experience, set realistic expectations and define the best course of action for your healing and recovery.
Many people have questions, concerns and misconceptions about hypnosis. The consultation is the perfect time to answer any of those questions, resolve or clear any such concern or misconception.
It’s perfectly fine to make a list of questions and concerns and bring it with you!
One of the most common concerns is “can I be hypnotized?” This concern is based in the fear that associates the hypnotic state with being gullible. These two are not even remotely associated. Most people can be hypnotized; in fact, all that is required of you is your ability to follow directions and your willingness to do so.
If this is our first session and you have not filled the initial intake form, you will be given the time to do so. We then revisit your goals, redefine expectations and set forth with the therapy. The rest of our session follows the pace of the session diagram.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis in the clinical sense; describes a natural state of focused attention, absorption and heightened suggestibility.
In the hypnotic state the mind remain sharp and alert yet the body may feel deeply relaxed. The hypnotic state or “trance” like state is a normal state that enables access to a wealth of subconscious resources for the purpose of self-growth, change, success and healing. Immersed in the hypnotic experience, we tend to be more receptive to new and healthier suggestions, thoughts and ideas and can more readily act upon them to achieve desired outcomes.
What is Hypnotherapy?
The application of Hypnosis for a defined therapeutic purpose is called Hypnotherapy.
What is the difference between Clinical Hypnotherapy and Hypnotherapy?
While Clinical Hypnotherapy primarily offer solutions to illness related experiences, Hypnotherapy offer solutions to emotional and behavioral experiences.
What is Self-Hypnosis?
It is also possible to learn to give oneself suggestions to induce a state of hypnosis; this is called self-hypnosis. Essentially, all hypnosis is a form of self-hypnosis because in order for it to yield desired outcome you must be an active willing participant.
Self-Hypnosis is you a lifelong skill that can help you better manage your life and change behaviors, attitudes, thoughts and emotions that no longer serve you.
